The Pacific Tongues/ Youth Speaks HI "2nd Saturday's" Poetry Slam & Open Mic is held on the second Saturday of each month, at The Arts at Marks Garage. This show brings together youth spoken word artists from across the island to compete and share their voices.

Doors open at 2:30 pm, slam begins at 3 pm.

All ages, FREE.
This June installment will be a "NO RULES" slam, meaning that competitors will not be held to the usual judging criteria/poem format: Bring a poem, a rap, a song, a story, or any other creative work that you wish to share!
About your Feature poets:
Rick Manayan is an undergraduate student at Wesleyan University in Connecticut where he studies Dance, Sociology, and Writing. He was a part of Youth Speaks Hawaii's 2013 team and most recently competed with the Wesleyan Slam Poetry Team at CUPSI 2014 in Colorado. In his free time, Rick enjoys photography, avocados, and rubbing the bellies of his cats.
Kamden Hilliard likes to go by "Kam". He's a student at Sarah Lawrence College where he studies poetry and psychology. The orangest 2012 Davidson Fellow in Literature there ever was, Kam also enjoys hiking. He's a contributor for Elite Daily online magazine. You can find his work in Requited Journal, burntdistrict, Winter Tangerine Review, and other lovely places.
