Since 2005, we have facilitated a FREE Wednesday Writing Workshop at the Arts at Marks Garage (1159 Nu'uanu Ave) in Honolulu's historic Chinatown. The workshop is from 4:30pm-6:00 and attracts students from all over the island. This is the longest running writing workshop on the island of O'ahu. The workshop is a safe environment for writers and performers of all levels to develop their voice and their craft. Facilitated by a rotation of amazing local and international facilitators, these workshops encourage high-level critical conversations, push the aesthetic of spoken arts and form a strong youth literary community. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate.

Facilitated by William Giles

William Giles is not a player, he just writes a lot. If you ask him how he is living, he will respond "In moleskins and Bic pens, giving ends to my friends and it feels stupendous." Will is a member of the First Wave Hip Hop Theatre Ensemble at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the first Hip Hop scholarship and performance program to be funded by a university. He was also a member of the 2008 Youth Speaks Hawaii Brave New Voices championship team.
